Eashl/Ones has been ruined. Between the Prebuilds that are over powered and the Fact Most Attributes Dont work the way they should really ruin the fun.
How exactly has this ruined the game? My club goes up against the same players and we haven't had any issues with them. Win some, lose some. If we lose, it's due to our play and not pre-made builds.
Basically Speed Agility Acceleration Deke are the only Attributes really needed. It feels like there is little difference lower and Higher attributes. Outside those 4. I think the best way to explain this is if a Guy has 75 hitting And the opponent has 80+ Balance and strength The guy with lower hitting should Have little effect on the guy with higher balance. This includes puck control. Instead This game you can have 75 hitting and still rock people. Attributes need to work properly the Higher the Attribute the more Effect it has the lower it has the less it does.
Hitting isn't just about a difference in ratings though. Overall impact of the collision is a very big part of it. So are Strength and Body Checking. As with the rest of this game, how you use play is the best way to utilize your attributes. Yes, speed is incredibly important. However, a good defender is going to shut down a forward that only focuses on speed. So, hitting someone with higher balance when you've lined them up and throw a well-timed hit, it's still very possible to knock them off the puck. Which, is pretty realistic when compared to real hockey.
The higher the attribute, the higher the chance you have at it working, but it's also dependent on other factors. For example, if your slapshot accuracy is 95, it's only going to take advantage of the max attribute if you're in a settled state. Taking the shot while moving or if it's not timed well, isn't going get the full effect of that rating.
Another Flaw is Reverse hitting. The guy using the reverse hit always wins regardless of Attribute power. In ones ive used builds with 96 hitting and have been reversed hit by a wheels Dangler who has 65 hitting. Reverse hitting should again work based on The hitters power but doesnt just gives the guy the reverse hit all the time.
I agree reverse hitting needs to be balanced better. As KidShowtime1867 pointed out, it's not guaranteed to be successful.
Hip checking. Hip checking is usually just a clip/trip. Hip check is still broken. In game Players using hip check can not only travel great distances in the hip check posture but also make turns in the posture as well and still label people with minimum contact.
Again, I'd like to see this balanced better. Personally, I hate that it was moved to one button. Putting it back the way it used to be would probably solve the overuse of it. Regardless, it needs to be less affective.
Checking in general needs to be returned to the old system. The timing system is a joke. And Needs to go.
I think hitting is more skill-based now and I'm thankful for it. One of the biggest requests we've had is to increase the skill gap. This is part of that. Properly executing a hit should take more skill just hitting up on the stick in the general direction of the carrier. It also helps cut down on the goon teams that just want to hit everything that moves.
Ai Still awful after almost 20 years if Eashl still cant figure it out. Literally Ai dman just gets skated by cant read passes cant make passes Just completely useless.
The AI obviously isn't perfect and I doubt they ever will be. However, much of their play is based on what the humans are doing. If the humans are out of position, which they frequently are, the AI will be as well. They won't be able to make the right plays in that case. They also are reacting to the strategies you set. Setting strategies that counter your opponent and support your own style of play are going to make a difference.
Ai goaltending. The Ai Goalie sill make the most ridiculous saves cross crease or clear as day picked corner saves but cant stop soft wristers from the point goals bounce off the glove and blocker flip up in the air and go in all the time. Also Ai goalie Cant cover or stop giving up soft rebounds Soft shots from all over the ice are always kicked back into the middle for easy rebound goals.
I'd love to see the amount of partial save goals reduced. I also want them to be better about directing rebounds to less dangerous areas. It's also going to help to have human defenders that can get in better a better position than the AI to pick them up. It would also be good to have better covers. Obviously, there are times the puck gets in an area the goalie doesn't really have coverage for and flops around. That's always frustrating. There has been a lot of improvement here and hopefully, it'll improve more in the future. Goalie is the most difficult position to perfectly replicate in a video game.
Puck pick ups. Are still awful Cant tell you how many times i literally skate through loose pucks all the time. Also the one thing that should be more arcade than realistic is After Hitting a player sometimes the player lands on the puck skating into a player down on the ice cause the hitter to trip. Then what happens is the player who was hit gets up before the player who made the hit. Or what else can happen is the player who was hit falls on the puck and its impossible to get the puck from under them. It should be Easier to get the puck after making a good hit and also you shouldnt get punished/trip over the player who you hit.
I'm going to need video of skating through loose pucks. Normally, if you go into a glide, and you're in a good position, chances are excellent you'll pick it up. People tend to overuse hustle though. You're not going to pick up a puck when actively hustling. Let off the stick and go into a glide first.
Yes. Skating into a downed player is frustrating. Thankfully, this has been highly improved over the years. There are far fewer cases now where you can't get the puck from a player that falls on it. Regardless though, a stick can't poke through a body and make a play on the puck. Which, is realistic. If a player is on top of the puck, a stick isn't going to be able to fish it out. The downed player needs to move.
Removing Match club Size was a horrible idea.
It's very possible this will return in the future. The changes to matchmaking didn't work out as well as we had hoped.
Customization section of Club. Add new logos specifically retro logos from Pitt Robo penguin/ Poohbear Bruins/Lightning old logo
Logos are often a licensing issue. We are always trying to get as many as possible.
Remove female announcer from the game.Bring in Gord miller or Gary Thorne to call the game. Bring back Ray as well.
Female announcers are a lot more common in sports these days. I don't see this changing. I assume we will swap out the commentators at some point, as we normally do every so often. However, it's very possible we'll continue to have female commentators.
Lots need to be fixed. All Player want is a game that works properly. What EA has done for years is Added A ton of garbage that no one has asked for. When all people want is A game that plays well and works the way it should.
We get feedback every year that the game needs to change. I see the tired comment of every year it's a roster update with the year changed on the cover. Then we get complaints the game isn't the same as before. So, what do you want? A new game or do you just want NHL 14 on loop? Also, many people are able to play the game just fine now. Yeah, it's not as arcade as the old games. It takes a higher level of skill to excel at. Of course there are parts of the game that aren't working as well as we'd like them to. Regardless, we've had a lot of praise for the overall gameplay this year. However, not everyone is going to like it.
People want GM mode back but that hasn't been done but PWHL has. No offense to the women but why are they in the game? Its NHL if EA thinks there is potential for them Make PWHL 26.
Women are in the game because women play hockey. They don't need their own separate game. Hockey is a sport for all. You certainly have the option to only play with male skaters if you want.
We are aware of the requests for GM mode. There have been other areas of the game that have taken priority. It's possible this will return someday though.
There is a shop for players but why not have a shop for teams so we can Unlock the logos /jerseys we want instead of the crap shoot Hockey bags. Also Instead of Have Certain things available by day just have everything available all the time.
I agree. I'm not a fan of the bag system myself.
Bring back skate blade curve and stick curve.
Also In free skate have Target shooting and Shot power clock so we can see if Attributes are actually working properly
